GAINOMAX – SEXY MONKEY

In Sweden most people eat a banana after working out. They shouldn’t.  Bananas are monkey food. And it’s not sexy. Talvi Digital was responsible for the postproduction and visual effects work of this commercial.

MTC – RED ENERGY DRUMMER

Collect your old boomboxes and videoplayers to build a fantastic robot and turn it alive with Red Energy! The smoothly moving Giant roams around the streets of Buenos Aires and brings new features to your mobile device. Talvi flew to the other side of the globe for some serious CGI supervising and animated the character to make this commercial happen. Quite cool, isn’t it.

“Harjunpää ja Pahan Pappi” – First teaser is now out!

“Harjunpää ja Pahan Pappi” is a film based on the same titled book written by Finnish author, police sergeant Matti Yrjänä Joensuu (born 1948).

Producer Ilkka Matila, MRP Matila Röhr Productions and screenwriter Leo Viirret have been developing the story of the film since 2004. The film is directed by Olli Saarela, whose previous films include Suden vuosi, Rölli ja metsänhenki, Bad Luck Love, Rukajärventie and Lunastus. Produced by Ilkka Matila, MRP Matila Röhr Productions, the production of the film started in March 2010. Talvi Digital was on set supervising the VFX parts. Harjunpää ja pahan pappi will premiere 29.10.2010 in Finnish movie theaters.

The film is currently in production phase. The effects, postproduction and grading of the film will be done at Talvi Digital.

“Taulukauppiaat” (The Painting Sellers) wins 1st Prize at Cannes

Talvi congratulates Juho Kuosmanen for this fantastic achievement as a young director.  Taulukauppaat is an Elokuvayhtiö Oy Aamu Ab production and Director Kuosmanen’s thesis work at the Motion Picture, Television and Production Design department at Aalto-University.  Leading roles are played by Teppo Manner, Auli Mantila and Tuomas Airola. The screenplay and cinematography is by JP Passi ja Production by Jussi Rantamäki and Auli Mantila.

Taulukauppiaat tells a story: It’s almost Christmas, but these three people are still on the road. Their products don’t sell, the car is a wreck and the weather is freezing. Moreover, there is a problem: how to cope with an emerging friendship?

Talvi was responsible for colour grading of Taulukauppiaat and was instrumental in creating the special mood which reinforces the story of the film. Shot on 16mm film, scanned and delivered to Talvi Digital as linear DPX files for final grading.
